Aren’t they just amazing?!?

My husband and I went to the border in Jan 2020 to research the real effects on people’s lives of Trump & Co’s criminal immigrant agenda. We thought we would write a series of articles about the asylum seekers caught in their immoral and inhumane web; or about the historical context that gave rise to Central American migration and the part the US has played in creating the endemic regional issues that cause people to flee their homes.

But when we met the Team Brownsville co-founders, as well as the other member of the Dignity Village Collaborative, that’s we knew that what I should really be writing about are the heroes and humanitarians who’ve selflessly been pushing back against the myriad injustices day in and day for no other reason than it’s the right thing to do.

They lift us all up. They give us hope. They offer us a model to guide our own actions by.

Looking forward to meeting you on the border one day, Paula!
